This sound board was featured in a Nov/Dec issue of InfoWorld magazine. I called their 800 phone number and was told that the board was still in production and to check back in several weeks. I did manage to find out that the board can do speech, music and will be MIDI compatible and also Soundblaster compatible. It is supposed to be 16-bit. And get this he said that the price (retail) would be about $199. I am following up on this company and will be bringing more details as they become available. If anybody else knows anything about this board please e-mail me. ***** Many of you have been asking about how to play files on a SUN or SPARC station. I have obtained several of these conversion programs and files but I have not been able to test them. However I have been informed by John Christianson that there is a site at 'ucsd.edu' that does have files in the 'sparcaudio' and the 'midi' directories that you can experiment with. ***** There have recently been a lot of new progams out to play sound files. Among them Playmac, Digiplay, Scream Tracker and many more. If you are the author of one of these and would like to tell everybody about your product we are now accepting short summaries for posting in our next edition. ***** YOUR sound related announcement can go here just send it over to us for inclusion in our magazine and enjoy a circulation of over 450 users worldwide! ***** This sound site is available by anonymous FTP at: ccb.ucsf.edu (128.218.1.13) ---------------------------- Other Known Sound FTP Sites ---------------------------- If you know of any other Sound ftp sites please forward the information this way.
