The Robotics Institute often hosts an open house during the university’s Spring Carnival; when scheduled, the details are posted in the Events section of the Robotics Institute web site.

Most of our robots are located within laboratories and thus are not readily accessible to the public. But Tank, the Roboceptionist, an interactive social robot, operates on most weekdays at the third-floor entrance to Newell-Simon Hall. HERB, the home exploring robot butler, is a two-armed, mobile robot that can be viewed through the glass walls of the Personal Robotics Lab on the fourth floor of Newell-Simon Hall.

Campus tours for prospective students can be scheduled through the university’s Undergraduate Admissions office. Sleeping Bag Weekends, overnight events that give accepted students a first-hand taste of campus life, include tours of the Gates and Hillman centers and Newell-Simon Hall, where many SCS offices and labs are situated.
