Forward 124 lines v Forward one screen > Forward to end of file z Previous screen , Backward 124 lines p Print screen to LST < Back to beginning of file s Search forward for string (type string at prompt "?"; 16 letters max.) c Continue search for current string n Read new file m More of existing file (see below) q Quit, with warm boot This program works by reading the file into memory (about 55K). If the file is longer than 55K, only the first half will be entered into memory. Subsequent portions can be read using the "m" command. Note: invoking the "p" command when the printer isn't hooked up will hang up the system. Letter commands and file names may be entered in either upper or lower case. (I don' kno bean abou programming o els woul d i myself) First change: implement an additional option, invoked by the letter "d" (upper or lower case). "D" would list the disk directory of the currently logged drive. All too often, I want to use I.COM to view a series of files, but I forget all the filenames. An option such as this would make file selection much easier. (If you feel more ambitious, you could amplify this option so that pressing "d" would invoke a question like this: "Display directory of drive/user?" ) Second change: implement an additional option, invoked by the letter "e" (upper or lower case). "E" would stand for "Exit I and Edit current file." I examine a lot of files on my disk usin I especiall usin it searc facility I woul b nic t b abl t pres "e" an immediatel exi I.CO an lo int WordSta o something an g directl t th fil wa examining. I would like to see a user-patchable address, with 11 bytes of empty code, so the user could patch in the name of his/her favorite word processor (or any .COM file, really), which would take the fil currentl i memor A IT ARGUMENT (Thos las word are significant.) Thir change I woul b nic t amplif th hel men whe th use strike a incorrec key Perhap somethin lik this: ================================================================= Forward one line . Why doesn't it quit silently, like NSWP? It would be nice if it exited silently, like NSWP, but if warm boots are desirable for some reason, then don't change its exit procedure O th othe hand i I.CO coul exi silentl withou producin an problems the conside thi fourt suggested change.
