The Complete Fujitsu Stylistic 1200 Setup Kit --------------------------------------------- Compiled by Anthony Iannone (aiannone@nis.net) If you find this useful, please PayPal me a few dollars at the above email address. Instructions for setting up your Stylistic 1200 Tablet PC with Windows 95: 1) Upgrade your BIOS to version 1.11 with included flash utility and BIN file if your BIOS predates this version. 2) Set up your BIOS/CMOS settings as you please, but make sure that the floppy disk controller is disabled if you do not have a docking station. Not doing so can result in Windows going comatose for upwards of 1 miniute every time an attempted floppy access is made. I recommend using no ECP on LPT, and only standard IR for COM2:. 3) Do a fresh format of your hard drive and install a clean copy of Windows 95 'B' Oem Service Release 2 or higher (Version 'A' or the retail version will not work well). Make sure you have a keyboard hooked up, but not a mouse. 4) After you get running, install the included NeoMagic video drivers. 5) Next, disable the PS/2 Pointing port and the Standard Floppy Controller from device manager. 6) Using device manager, un-disable the 'Standard PCIC' controller under PMCICA devices; do not touch any of the CardBus entries if present. 7) After you reboot, install the included Fujitsu pen services. Do this by using the 'Have Disk' option of Windows Setup under Add & Remove Software from the control panel. 8) Now, install the included hotpad patch. 9) Copy the included Pen control panel to your windos\system directory and reboot. 10) After rebooting, delete and USB items from the other devices heading of the device manager. Then install the USB Supplement; if after rebooting the driver file uhcd.sys is not automatically found, check for it in C:\windows\system and C:\windows\system\iosubsys / 11) Install the Intel INF Update. You may have to reboot as many as 5 times to complete the instalation. 12) After the install is complete, be aware that your hard drive is now in compatibilty mode. To rectify this, select the yellow marked Intel BUS Master IDE controller form device manager, and disable automatic settings (Use manual configuration - default settings). After a reboot you should be back to normal. 13) Copy the Pen Services manual help file to your Windows directory, and make a shortcut if you like. Now your all done! Everything should work perfectly for you, including your pen, handwriting recognition, sound, and video. Be aware that there are still two yellow question marked devices under device manager labeled 'PCI Bridge' - I can't find drivers for these devices and they don;t seem to have any impact on system oppertions. Good luck! -Anthony Iannone -email: aiannone@nis.net
